The Shellow Group Private InvestigatorsKevin Cassidy: Kevin Cassidy is the senior private investigator for the Shellow Group. He has never been a police officer or federal agent. The most important quality in an investigator is creativity and trustworthiness. Whether it is the search for a document among tens of thousands that only he saw its importance to the criminal defendant, or finding a way to make a witness comfortable so that they will disclose that which they have not disclosed to someone else, Kevin Cassidy finds a way. He and Robin Shellow founded the Shellow Group and developed the collaborative together. Its hallmark is a high intensity low volume practice that allows the investigator to have as much as necessary to develop the best possible facts and theories to exonerate our clients. His investigations have taken him from the Al Bustan Palace in Oman to projects in Gary Indiana. A great investigator is someone who has the perception to know when to interview a person and what answers are needed to make this witness a helpful witness. Kevin doesn’t coach witnesses. He analyzes why they see what they see and know what they know. Joel Rynders MS CSW brings 22 years of clinical and administrative experience in behavioral healthcare, including 8 years of forensic specialty, to The Shellow Group. Joel’s clinical specialties are structured intervention, triage assessment, substance abuse, and children and adolescents. Joel is also Master’s prepared in healthcare administration. Joel’s full-time role with The Shellow Group is integral to developing, implementing, and monitoring case strategy with the legal team. His role is key to The Shellow Group’s holistic and humanistic approach to practicing criminal defense law. Although Joel has testified in both State and Federal Court, his role tends to be active “from the gallery”. Joel has been successful in presenting a client’s “human-side” of the Department of to the Court. Often, Joel’s goal with Shellow Group clients is to help them effect real and demonstrable change in their lives that can be seen by Courts and have an impact on criminal justice outcomes. Joel is also a facilitator. |
