About Shellow & Shellow, S.C….

Founded in 1970 by the late Gilda Shellow and her husband James, Shellow & Shellow, S.C. has been a national pioneer in the development of new criminal defenses and a champion of civil rights ever since. Today, this venerable and well-respected Milwaukee firm makes its home in the same building as The Shellow Group*—the firm founded by the couple's youngest daughter Robin Shellow.

James Shellow's professional credentials and accomplishments are extraordinary in many ways. Mr. Shellow was a Divisional Honor Scholar, a University Research Fellow, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Chicago where he majored in physics and mathematics. He continued on with his studies here to receive a doctorate degree in experimental psychology. Mr. Shellow went on to obtain his law degree from Marquette University and later obtained a C.P.A. license as well.

As a member of the legal field his accomplishments have also been significant. James Shellow is a member of the Editorial Board of Forecite, a former president of the National Association of Criminal Defense lawyers, current President of the Board of Regents and member of the faculty of the National College for Criminal Defense, and an elected member of the American Law Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers and has lectured and published extensively in the field of criminal law.
